Take Note !! This is NOT the same board as the MSI P6N Platinum and does not appear to my knowledge on MSI's web site. The vendor is clearly stating that it is a different board, but I did not pick up on the information (my mistake). If you want the eSATA ports or the SLI video capability you do not want to purchase the "OEM Version" as these features are not present, nor are the additional cooling components.
I decided to keep the board as I had already installed processor and memorey before I realized something was up.
Also, not that the OEM version does not include any documentation, drivers, or cables; a plate for the rear ports and also a tiny speaker are the only items included, as I recall.
I am assuming that the performace is the same as for the standard P6N. I was able to use the drivers downloaded from the mfg's site. A manual is also available for download form MSI.
I purchased an eSATA PCI express card locally since this is a gift for my son who wanted eSATA to work with an external drive he uses for backup. This board is now fitted with a 3.5 DualCore processor, a Nvida QUAD FX507 graphics card, two SATA2 drives in a striped RAID array, and 8GB of PNY dual port ram. If he needs a second SLI graphics card in the future for his CAD work (he's an achitecture grad student) we'll have to change the motherboard to one that will support SLI.
I decided to keep and use this board since it will meet the immediate performace needs and was inexpensive. It may be a hassle to change out the MB in the future, so the ready expansion capabily of the non-oem version would have been a nice insurance policy for about $20 more.
