(More customer reviews)I just received this bag a few moments ago. I was very excited to get it as I've been looking for a computer bag for quite some time. It's so hard to find a nice feminine one that isn't super "business"-like and/or pricey. Superficially, I was attracted to this bag almost instantly. I like that it could pass for a purse. Everyone knowing that I'm carrying a $1000 gadget doesn't sound wise to me! It just looks like a tote if you use the double carrying handles (be warned - these are not long enough to go over your shoulder). When you use the shoulder strap, it looks more like a messenger as the top portion with the handles folds over like a messenger flap. The faux-leather exterior is decent and doesn't look too fake.
For me, this bag's best feature is it's versatility. It is casual enough for everyday use, but nice enough for professional use. You might want to use it was a school or work bag without a laptop in it. The size and construction are perfect for hauling books. It's also good for travel as it isn't too bulky and goes with anything - you could even use it as a small overnighter.
In terms of laptop protection, I think this bag is quite decent. It's thickly padded and seems pretty sturdy. Most likely would be fairly water resistant. Plus, they include a removable padded pocket for the laptop. However, I was honestly a tad disappointed in that particular feature. It does not completely cover the laptop. It's shaped like an envelope that's had its flap ripped off and replaced with an elastic strap and velcro closure. Thus, there's about a third of one side of your laptop that will remain sans-sleeve. This shouldn't really be a problem, though - just place the exposed side against the back wall of the bag and none of the other contents of the bag will disturb it. And it is a very cushy, thickly padded sleeve. It fits my 13" white MacBook exactly.
I like the organization feature of the bag, too. The outside zip pocket is very large and has three pencil/pen pockets and two larger pockets for phone/pda/mp3, etc. There's plenty of room in the pocket for anything to which you'd want quick access - keys, wallet, glasses.
The only other thing I was at all disappointed about is that there are no side pockets. The product image is a bit deceiving. The bit of pink lining you see exposed by the zipper is not a side pocket. Instead, the bag just has a zipper that runs around the bottom and side which you can unzip to expose the lining and to expand the bag just a tad. Sort of useless.
All in all, this product is a great value.
